Model United Nations
The Model United Nations (MAMUN)club is structured in the manner of the United Nations. Our students act asambassadors from UN member states to debate current issues on theorganization’s vast agenda. Students draft resolutions, plot strategy,negotiate with supporters and adversaries, resolve conflicts and navigate theUN's rules of procedures - all in the interest of mobilizing"international cooperation" to resolve problems that affect countriesall over the world.
Before they can become ambassadors,students must research the important world issues that will be addressed atconference. MAMUN participants learn how the international community acts onconcerns about peace and security, human rights, the environment, food andhunger, economic development, and globalization.Students look closely at the needs, goals, andforeign policies of the country to be represented at conference. The insightsgained from their exploration of history, geography, culture, economics, andscience contribute to the authenticity of the simulation and create lively andmemorable experiences while providing students with an enhanced education.
