Menas began his career in the McKeesport Area School District during the 2003-04 school year when he completed his school psychology internship. By the start of the next school year, Menas began working in the MASD as a full-time Certified School Psychologist. Some of his responsibilities included the completion of multidisciplinary evaluations, individual and group counseling, the development of Section 504 service agreements, teacher consultation, and more. A few school years later, Menas accepted a position working in the special education office as a special education administrator. While the title of the position and breadth of duties have changed over the years, Menas continues to work today as the Assistant Coordinator of Special Education/ACCESS Billing. In this role, Menas helps coordinate special education supports and services for eligible students including those who are new to the district, provides professional development training to district staff, participates in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, coordinates all aspects of the School Based Access Program, and much more. Menas graduated from the Woodland Hills School District in 1994 and, in 1998, received his BS degree (psychology) from the University of Pittsburgh. He earned his doctorate (PhD) in school psychology from Duquesne University in 2015 and, in 2017, received his Supervisor of Pupil Services certificate through Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 2018, Menas coauthored an article that was published in the Journal of Behavioral Education based on the research data from his dissertation. Menas is married and has three young children.
