Plans for the new McKeesport Vocational School were for it to be completed on June 1, 1940 with an estimated cost of $1,100,000; 55% of the cost was to be paid by the school district and 45% by the Federal government. The building length was to be 576 feet with a school capacity of 840 students. Plans included an auditorium with a seating capacity of 643 and a gymnasium with folding bleachers that would seat 2,000.
Additional features included accommodating 414 in the cafeteria and a visual education room suitable for motion-sound pictures with a seating capacity of 64. The library had proper facilities for reference work in connection with the theoretical and practical phases of industry, invention, science, English, and social studies.
Today Founders' Hall houses students from McKeesport Area School District in grades 7 and 8 with an annex of 6th graders. The 6th grade annex was completed in January 2015, and students moved in the first day of classes in February!
