Welcome to Allied Health!

  • The MATC Allied Health Program offers MAHS students the opportunity to receive instruction and hands on experience in health related occupations. Students participate in classroom instruction relating to terminology, anatomy, infection control, emergent care, nutrition, and ethics. Much of the lab time is spent practicing skills necessary in health care, geared to nursing/pre-nursing skills.Second and third year students have the opportunity to not only demonstrate their abilities in the lab setting but are also offered hands on experiences in a clinical setting at UPMC McKeesport through the MATC/UPMC Healthcare Awareness Youth Apprenticeship Program.

    MATC proudly claims that the MASD Allied Health students have the ability to attend a twice weekly clinical in an ACUTE CARE SETTING; a privilege not offered in any other CTC in the region!

    By the year 2022, there is a projected 19.1% increase in demand for Nurses in this region of PA and a 14.9% increase for Nursing Assistants!
