The Counselor helps in these ways:
- Consulting with teachers, parents, administrators, and other professionals about resource programs, individual problems and family problems.
- Listening to students' suggestions and concerns about teachers, rules, curriculum, etc., and helping to resolve conflicts.
- Referring students and parents to community agencies such as family services, psychological medical services, etc., when needed.
- Teaching students about the consequences of their behavior which may include helping them explore alternative behaviors and facilitating changes.
