Chromebook Distribution Information

Access to technology is very important for our students as a large amount of learning resources and materials can be accessed digitally. McKeesport Area School District will continue to promote a one-to-one Chromebook or personal computer use for students in grades 2-12. Students may elect to either bring their own Chromebook or personal computer to school for academic use or use a district-issued Chromebook. District issued Chromebooks will be available to students in grades 2-12 by request.  The lending program is offered by request and will not require mandatory participation.  Students in grades kindergarten and first grade will use district provided iPads at school only. Students in all other grades will be encouraged to use devices at home and school.

For students wishing to bring their own device, the devices will be the sole responsibility of the student and the District will not be responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged devices, software or data. Students participating in the Bring Your Own Device program will need to complete a permission/agreement form located on our Bring Your Own Device webpage.

Additionally, the district will not provide technical support for any non-District owned devices.  McKeesport Area School District employees are not permitted to install any software on any non-District owned device. We thank you for your support as we strive to provide all students with access to technology. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s principal.
