Technology

Our Purpose
The Technology Department at McKeesport Area School District is responsible for supporting and maintaining the district’s technology infrastructure to ensure reliable access for students and staff. This includes managing networks, devices, software systems, and cybersecurity measures that support daily instruction and operations. The department also provides technical support and troubleshooting, helping to minimize disruptions and keep classrooms and offices running efficiently.
In addition to maintenance and support, the Technology Department plays a key role in advancing digital learning across the district. It assists with the integration of technology into instruction, supports digital tools and platforms, and provides training for staff to effectively use educational technology. By aligning technology resources with instructional goals, the department helps enhance teaching, learning, and communication throughout the district.

Virtual Instruction Support
If you need assistance from the McKeesport Area School District Technology Department on a day when in-person learning is not in session, please submit a request using the Technology Request Form.
This form should be used only in the following situations:
-
During a Flexible Instruction Day (FID) or Virtual Instruction Day (VID)
-
By Cyber School students
Please do not use this form when school is in normal in-person session unless you have been explicitly instructed to do so by a member of the MASD Technology Team.
If a student experiences a technology issue while school is in session, they should report the issue to their homeroom teacher. The teacher will submit an internal help desk ticket so the appropriate technology staff can be assigned.
Response Time Notice
During periods of inclement weather or on virtual instruction days, request volumes may be higher than normal. Please be patient. A member of the Technology Department will contact you as soon as possible to assist.
