Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment

The Department  of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at McKeesport Area School District is responsible for the development, coordination, and evaluation of instructional programs across all grade levels. It ensures that curriculum, teaching practices, and assessments are aligned with Pennsylvania state standards and designed to support student achievement. The department works closely with teachers and school leaders to implement effective instructional strategies, select appropriate materials, and maintain consistency in what students are taught throughout the district. 

In addition to overseeing curriculum, the department supports continuous improvement in teaching and learning. This includes providing professional development opportunities, analyzing student performance data, and guiding instructional innovation. By collaborating with educators and administrators, the Curriculum Department helps ensure that all students have access to rigorous, relevant learning experiences that prepare them for future academic and career success.
