The McKeesport School District Technology Department Chromebook collection for the 22-23 school year will start on May 30th and continue through June 5th. Each building will be assigned a day that the Chromebooks will be collected, according to the schedule below.  Chromebooks will be collected during normal school hours.  Students should bring their device along with their charger and case to school as per the dates below.

May 30th – Francis McClure Elementary
May 31st – Twin Rivers Elementary
June 1st – Founders Hall Middle School
June 2nd – McKeesport Area Senior High School
June 5th – McKeesport Area Cyber Students – at the Administration Building between the hours of 10:00am and 2:00pm

If your student forgets to return their Chromebook on the set collection date, they may return it to their building on June 5th. Cyber student makeup returns will be made by appointment through the McKeesport Area Administration Building. Returning a Chromebook late limits our ability to return the Chromebook to the student in the fall so all reasonable efforts should be made to return your Chromebook on your building’s scheduled day.

Access to technology is very important for our students as a large amount of learning resources and materials can be accessed digitally. For the 2022-2023 school year, the McKeesport Area School District will continue to promote a one-to-one Chromebook or personal computer use for students in grades 3-12.

Students in grades 3-12 may elect to either bring their own Chromebook or personal computer to school for academic use or use a district-issued Chromebook. District issued Chromebooks will be available to students in grades 3-12 by request.  The lending program is offered by request and will not require mandatory participation.  Students in grades kindergarten, first and second will use district provided iPads at school only. Students in all other grades will be encouraged to use devices at home and school.

Chromebook distribution will take place on the following dates:

Thursday, August 18th 2022 for 3rd through 12th grade students in all buildings with last names starting with A-M from 2pm-6pm at the High School Auditorium

Monday, August 22nd 2022 for 3rd through 12th grade students in all buildings with last names starting with N-Z from 2pm-6pm at the High School Auditorium

*Ipads will not be distributed at this time

If you are unable to attend one of the distributions, Chromebooks will be available upon request after the start of school starting on August 24th for students who participated in the Chromebook lending program in the 2021-2022 school year and starting August 30th for students new to the lending program.

For students wishing to bring their own device, the devices will be the sole responsibility of the student and the District will not be responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged devices, software or data. Students participating in the Bring Your Own Device program will need to complete a permission/agreement form located at:

Additionally, the district will not provide technical support for any non-District owned devices.  McKeesport Area School District employees are not permitted to install any software on any non-District owned device.

We thank you for your support as we strive to provide all students with access to technology. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s principal.
