The objective of the Technology Department is to provide the most effective and efficient information systems possible to empower the students, faculty, and staff of the McKeesport Area School District schools and to help them meet their goals as a learning community.

Students engage in computer activities at all grade levels.  Wherever practical, computers are used as tools to learn curriculum content while simultaneously discovering technology.  Activities cover a range of applications including the use of content-specific software.  At the high school level, students may elect courses to study computers and specific applications in addition to "integrated" activities.

Centennial, George Washington, Founders' Hall, and White Oak are equipped with one working computer lab.  Multiple labs exist at Cornell, Francis McClure, and the High School.  Most of the district classrooms are also equipped with at least one computer.
