| STUDENT RECORDS |
 |
Records are maintained on each
student as an aid to the educational process and for the convenience and
reference of former students. Parents or students may review records
through the office of the school principal. Procedures are in place
for any correction, addition, or challenge of a student's record.
For details on a specific procedure, please contact the Office of the
Superintendent.
Written permission from the parent or student (if over the age of 18) is
needed for the release of records outside the district. However,
there are exceptions: if the student transfers to another district;
if the school district receives a subpoena; or if the student seeks
enrollment in a post secondary school.
Parents and students have the right to file a complaint with the U.S.
Department of Education concerning alleged failures by the school district
to comply with the requirements of the Family Educational Rights and
Privacy Act (FERPA).
Former students may obtain a copy of their transcript at the student
records office located in the district's administration office at 3590
O'Neil Boulevard, McKeesport, PA 15132 or by calling (412) 664-3628. |
